The Vedantic Center’s Sai Anantam Ashram

Ashram - Present Day

Sai Anantam Ashram without walls, continues to live on in the hearts of Swamini's students, family and those whose hearts and souls she has touched around the world. Our Mission is to practice and share the Lord’s universal, spiritual teachings, as taught by A.C. Turiyasangitananda and participate in the mission of divine upliftment for all through service and the human values of love, peace, truth, right action and non-violence.

As many know, the Ashram's physical location ceased at the end of 2017 when the land was sold. Sadly, shortly thereafter, all of its buildings were destroyed in the California wildfires of November, 2018. However, the spirit and essence of the ashram live on, as Swamini’s spiritual teachings and divine music keep spreading, via her students and her  family.

We hope to once again find a physical location where the ashram can call its home. With the Lord and Swamini’s divine guidance, we welcome this new chapter in our Ashram’s history.

All praises and Glory to Sri Sathya Sai Baba and Swamini A.C. Turiyasangitananda for their great Love and Mercy!

Ashram History

“One day, while in a spiritual form, I stood with Swami Sivananda outside his ashram in Rishikesh. I then heard the Lord say to me:  “Some day, you shall have a Vedanta School.” Today, that “school” is a reality: The Lord laid the foundation stone for it several years ago. It is now called The Vedantic Center.”   -A.C. Turiyasangitananda

In 1975, Swamini A.C. Turiyasangitananda received her initiation into the renounced Order of Sannyas directly from the Supreme Lord. Shortly thereafter, in 1976, following the Lord’s directive, she established The Vedantic Center, a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, with Swamini as its founding director. In 1983, The Vedantic Center was relocated onto 50 acres of sacred and serene land in the Santa Monica Mountains of Agoura, California, and named Shanti Anantam Ashram.

In June of 1994, the following announcement was issued to all the students of the Center. It stated the following:

“A revelation of divine dispensation was given as it was prophesied to Swamini Turiyasangitananda in 1974 correspondent to the beginning of service to the Lord in this country. As of July, 1994, this divine revelation manifests itself as a new energy, a new era, and a new direction for our Center. It will re-establish itself as an ashram with Sri Satya Sai Baba’s endowment of mercy upon it.”

We directly received its new name; known as Sai Anantam Ashram in Chumash Pradesh.

On July 3, 1994, Swamini rededicated and inaugurated the land as Sai Anantam Ashram. With Sathya Sai Baba’s endowment of mercy upon it and Swamini’s leadership, the ashram served as a sanctuary where seekers from all faiths were welcome and could experience the sublime teachings on spiritual life. For many years, the land was conducive to spiritual practice and development to many spiritual seekers.

For many years, Swamini conveyed the Lord’s ancient and eternal teachings during Holy Observance Days, Sunday Services, Scripture Classes, Student Initiations, personal inner-views, spiritual concerts and events, and more. She graciously hosted many spiritual leaders on the land from diverse groups and backgrounds.

Swamini A.C.Turiyasangitananda left her physical body on January 12, 2007. Sai Anantam Ashram continued on the land for 10 more years, offering Sunday Service to the public, Meditation Vigils, Bhajan Chanting, Concerts, Experience of Yoga Retreat, Scripture Classes, and  service projects to help those in need.

Today, Sai Anantam Ashram ‘without walls’ continues, as the students of Alice Coltrane Swamini Turiyasangitananda endeavor to go forward following the wisdom teachings as they were given over 30 years and to share them with the greater global community through Selfless Love and Selfless Service.
