Gayatri Mantra's Meaning and Significance

General meaning: We meditate on that most adored Supreme Lord, the creator, whose effulgence (divine light) illumines all realms (physical, mental and spiritual). May this divine light illumine our intellect.

The Gayatri Mantra is a highly revered hymn from the Rig Veda. This simple Mantra is very powerful and miraculous. In 1985 the Air India aircraft, named the Kanishka plane was taken over by terrorists and crashed. Over 200 people died, no survivors. Swami said, even if only one person would have chanted the Gayatri Mantra, the plane crash would not have happened.”
